Type 309 stainless steel wire mesh is a heat resistant alloy useful in temperatures up to 1700°F. When higher operating temperatures are required, higher nickel alloys (i.e. see SS310, SS330, Inconel® 600, Incoloy® 800) are used in place of Type 309 stainless steel. Given its high chromium (~23%) and nickel (~12%) composition, T-309 stainless steel is highly corrosion resistant, has excellent resistance to oxidation, has outstanding heat resistance, and provides good strength at both room and elevated temperatures.
316 316L Stainless Steel Sheet
Alloys 316 (UNS S31600) and 316L (UNS S31603) are molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steels, which are more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than the conventional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels such as Alloy 304. These alloys also offer higher creep, stress-to-rupture, and tensile strength at elevated temperatures. In addition to excellent corrosion resistance and strength properties, the Alloys 316 and 316L Cr-Ni-Mo alloys also provide excellent fabricability and formability which are typical of the austenitic stainless steels.
Type 416HT Stainless Steel is a stainless steel which is martensitic and has been hardened by heat treatment to higher strength and hardness levels.
Alloy 409 is a general purpose, chromium, titanium stabilized, ferritic stainless steel whose primary application is automotive exhaust systems. It contains 11% chromium which is the minimum amount for the formation of the passive surface film which gives stainless steels their corrosion resistance.
Stainless steel 430 is a non-hardenable steel containing straight chromium, and belongs to the ferritic group of steels.
409 stainless steel is a Ferritic steel that offers good mechanical properties and high-temperature corrosion resistance. It is commonly considered as a chromium stainless steel, with applications in exhaust systems of automobiles and applications that demand weldability.
201 Stainless steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel-manganese stainless steel which was developed to conserve nickel. 201 is a lower cost alternative to conventional Cr-Ni stainless steels such as 301 and 304.
